DAPPING BLOCK WITH 27 DEPRESSIONS

Dapping tools are used to shape softer metals and waxes by punching into the depression of the blockes and dies. The punches and blocks are matched so that perfect hemispheres and domes can be formed in specified sizes. All 27 depressions are on one side-starting at 1/16" (1.6 mm) they go up as follows: 5/64" (2 mm), 3/32" (2.4 mm), 7/64" (2.8 mm), 1/8" (3.22 mm), 9/64" (3.6 mm), 5/32" (4 mm), 3/16" (4.8 mm), 7/32" (5.6 mm), 1/4" (6.4 mm), 9/32" (7.1 mm), 5/16 " (7.9 mm), 11/32' (8.7 mm), 3/8" (9.5 mm), 13/32" (10.3 mm), 5/8" (15.6 mm), 11/16" (17.5 mm), 3/4" (19.1 mm), 13/16" (20.6 mm), 7/8" (22.2 mm), 15/16" (23.8 mm) and 1" (25.4 mm). Used with punches to make hemi-spheres. The block measures 5-1/8" L x 2-1/2" W x 3/4" D (130 x 64 x 19 mm).
